Cohort analysis

Cohort analysis groups users by a shared characteristic — most often their acquisition week or a first action — and tracks how each group behaves over time. It separates the effect of when or how users arrived from changes in the product, making trends like improving retention visible. It is a core technique in both retention and revenue analysis.
