Heatmaps are useful because they compress thousands of interactions into something humans can recognize quickly.

Imagine a region receives unusually high interaction density.
You open sessions associated with that interaction.
Users repeatedly click a label.
Nothing happens.
You just discovered a UX problem through aggregated behavior and validated it using individual behavior.
That combination is far more useful than either tool alone.
Heatmaps answer:
Where is unusual behavior happening?
Replay answers:
What does that behavior actually look like?
Rage clicks are another useful signal#
Everyone has done it.
Click.
Nothing.
Click click.
Still nothing.
CLICK CLICK CLICK.
At some point the mouse is no longer an input device. It is a complaint mechanism.
Repeated interaction in a short period can indicate:
slow UI feedback
blocked elements
broken controls
unexpected loading
confusing interaction design
Those behavioral signals don't necessarily crash your application.
But they absolutely affect whether somebody keeps using it.
And that's why frontend observability shouldn't stop at exceptions.
Software can technically work while being incredibly annoying.
Users rarely distinguish between the two.
